Code of Conduct with SimpleJobs

Policy brief & purpose

Our Code of Conduct policy outlines our expectations regarding Jobbers’ behaviour towards their colleagues, Hirers, the SimpleJobs organisation and any other person within the Jobbers’ work environment. 

We promote freedom of expression and open communication while adhering to our Code of Conduct. Jobbers should avoid offending others or participating in serious disputes and disrupting during work. We also expect Jobbers to foster a well-organised, respectful and collaborative environment.

Scope

Our policy applies to all Jobbers on the SimpleJobs platform regardless of employment agreement or rank.

Policy elements

Jobbers are bound by their agreement when signing up. Jobbers are expected to follow this Code of Conduct policy which forms part of the agreement. We outline the components of our Code of Conduct here.

Compliance with law

All Jobbers must protect our company’s legality. They should comply with all environmental and safety laws. We expect Jobbers to be ethical and responsible when working with our Hirers’ products, partnerships and public image.

Respect in the workplace

All Jobbers should respect each other. We do not condone any kind of discriminatory behaviour, harassment or victimisation. 

Protection of Company/Hirers Property

All Jobbers should treat SimpleJobs and Hirer’s property, whether material or intangible, with respect and care. Jobbers:

  • Should not misuse company and/or Hirers’ equipment or use it frivolously.
  • Should only use equipment and resources assigned solely for their job duties.

Professionalism

All Jobbers should respect each other. We do not condone any form of discriminatory behaviour, harassment or victimisation. Jobbers should avoid offending others or participating in disrupting work. We also expect Jobbers to foster a well-organised, respectful and collaborative environment.

Personal appearanceAll Jobbers must follow the dress code and personal appearance guidelines; please refer to the ‘Personal Appearance and Default Dress Code’ section below.

Corruption – We discourage Jobbers from accepting gifts from our Hirers. We prohibit briberies for the benefit of any party.

Job duties and authority – All Jobbers should fulfil their requested duties with integrity and respect toward Hirers, other staff and customers. We expect Jobbers to follow the Hirer’s instructions and complete their duties with skill and on time.

Absenteeism and tardinessJobbers must commit to the agreed-upon job. While we can make exceptions for unique situations, we expect Jobbers to be within 15 minutes early when coming to work.

Conflict of interestWe expect Jobbers to avoid personal, financial, or other interests that might hinder their objectivity, capability or willingness to perform the job duties assigned to them.

Collaboration – Jobbers should be friendly and collaborative. They should try not to disrupt the workplace or present obstacles to anyone’s work.

CommunicationAll Jobbers must be open to communications with the Hirers, colleagues and staff of SimpleJobs.

Policies – All Jobbers should read and follow SimpleJobs policies. If you have any queries, please forward them to SimpleJobs.

Disciplinary actions

SimpleJobs may take appropriate actions against the Jobbers who repeatedly or intentionally fail to follow our Code of Conduct policy. Actions will vary depending on the violation. The possible consequences include:

  • Suspension or termination for more serious offences.
  • Detraction of benefits for a definite or indefinite amount of time.

We may take legal action against corruption, theft, embezzlement or other unlawful behaviour.

Personal Appearance and Default Dress Code

Grooming

Jobbers must maintain a good standard of personal hygiene when turning up for work. Failure to do so may result in rejection for work during reporting:

  1. Hair is clean and tidy
  2. The face is neatly shaved or groomed
  3. Nails are trimmed and clean

Attire

Unless specified attire is required, Jobbers are expected to turn up for work in the default attire as per below: 

  1. Black Shirt/ Polo Tee
  2. Dark coloured pants/jeans (ankle length)
  3. Black sleeves (if there is any visible tattoo on the arms)
  4. Covered shoes 

Code of Conduct Summary

  1. Be early for work (Within 15 min earlier than start time).
  2. Follow the Personal Appearance and Default Dress Code Requirement
  3. Be proactive, if you are not sure enquire
  4. Do not arrange for another programme once you committed to a job post.
  5. Inform us if you are not feeling well.
  6. Update us if you do not have the required attire early.
  7. Keep your nails short and clean.
  8. Be neat and tidy when reporting for work.
  9. Complete the job in the way instructed to do so.
  10. Do not demonstrate behaviour that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to another party.
  11. Demonstrated Integrity during work.
  12. Be proactive during your work, help when you can.
  13. Be kind and respectful with who you work with.
  14. Do not conduct any unlawful act during work.
  15. Use the Hirer’s property the way it is intended with care.
  16. Only take up jobs that you can commit to.
  17. When working, do it right and do it well.
  18. Complete the job till the stated time unless requested by Hirer.
  19. Be efficient.
